You can join a group or individual lesson with an established 8th grader or middle school student 3. You can get extra work for home individually or with others Please be advised that Thursday and Friday advisories encompass many students who are all practicing different instruments and/or singing- so advisory gets loud and chaotic!
Q: Can I come during a Friday advisory? A: A select number of students can attend a Friday advisory. Please watch the clock as advisory goes by fast! Also, the 8th grade choir students rehearse during this time so there are no teacher lessons provided. Please be advised that Thursday and Friday advisories encompass many students who are all practicing different instruments and/or singing, so advisory gets loud and chaotic!
Q: What grades go on trips? A: Only middle school. Elementary school goes on trips when they have an opportunity to see a performance.
Q: Do trips cost anything? A: Yes! That's why we do fundraisers! You can pay for your whole trip every year by doing the fundraisers.
Q: Do I have to do a fundraiser? A: If you are in middle school: yes. All fundraisers are mandatory. If you are in elementary school: optional.

Q: Who can join the RMA? A: Adults only. We need all the help we can get!
Q: What happens if I miss a rehearsal? A: You have to fill out an Absence Form each time you are absent. It has to be signed by a parent and returned asap. There are
Q: What is an "excused" rehearsal? A: There are few excused absences... 1. You are absent from school or you leave early from school 2. Doctor's note 3. Family emergency such as a funeral
Q: What happens when I reach my limit of "unexcused" absences? A: You have 3 unexcused rehearsals per ensemble. If you have 4, you are no longer part of that ensemble. Keep track of your absences!
Q: How much does the Six Flags trip cost? A: It increases every year. It is $70+ which includes funds from your fundraiser
Q: Can I go to Six Flags if I didn't go to any other performances? A: No. There are a certain number of required performances after school or at night that you need to attend and perform at in able to go to Six Flags. The winter and spring concerts and all fundraisers are part of this requirement.
Q: Can anyone go to Six Flags? A: No. Just because you are in middle school band or choir does not necessarily mean you are automatically going to Six Flags. Attendance and participation depends on: the amount of rehearsals you have missed, performance level, practice, responsibility, GRADES (you MUST be passing ALL classes by a certain date and have only been on AP 1x this entire school year) and behavior.
Q: Does my fundraiser account deplete after a year? A: No. Any remaining balance gets rolled over into the following year.
Q: Can I cash out my remaining balance at the end of 8th grade? A: If you are in 8th grade, your remaining balance gets rolled over into the RMA account. No funds are returned to a graduating student as no funds actually belong to students. Since this is not a student account, you agree to forfeit any remaining funds into the RMA account after graduation.
Q: Where are the concerts? A: Triton's auditorium in the evening at 7pm
Q: What is the dress code? A: Winter concert: White tops, black bottoms. TIES REQUIRED for guys. NO SKIRTS OR UGG TYPE shoes for middle school students. Skirts and dresses are acceptable for elementary school students (4th and 5th grades) only.
Spring concert: 6th and 7th grade students NOT in Select choir: white topes, black bottoms. 6th and 7th grade student IN Select choir AND ALL 8th grade students: black top, black bottoms. ALL 8th Grade students: will have a flower pinned to their top (girls and guys). Please make sure your top is something you are able to have something pinned into it. TIES REQUIRED for guys. NO SKIRTS OR UGG TYPE shoes for middle school students. Skirts and dresses are acceptable for elementary school students (4th and 5th grades) only.

Q: How can I wear my hair to a concert? A: Away from your face for band or choir performances. Please keep jewelry and makeup to a minimum.
Q: What types of clothes / jewelry and shoes CAN I wear to the concert: A. Wear shoes that you won't fall in and that you can stand in comfortably, small heel ok, open toe ok. Please use discretion and r responsibility: you are performing, this isn't a dance...
We get this question A LOT. Here is a list of acceptable and not acceptable clothing for public performance. ACCEPTABLE
Top: PLAIN top, button up, collared, t shirt, must have sleeve: cap sleeve, ruffle sleeve, short sleve or long.
Sweaters that are white or black (but please remember: even though it may be December, the stage is HOT!).
Pants: black dress pants, casual pants, yoga pants or leggings as long as they are NOT see-through (there are very BRIGHT lights on stage, if it's "slightly" see-through = it's see-through on stage- don't wear it!)
Shoe: black dress shoe, mary jane, flat, black converse with black laces (not white), any boot that is not an UGG looking shoe, open toe, small heel, sandal that goes around the ankle (not backless)
Jewelry: keep it to a minimum, has to be "silent"
Ties & scarves: Any tie. Girls are permitted to wear ties. Any scarf that's a form of black and white, not colored (but please remember it is hot and this is not suggested)
Hair / Makeup:
Hair: down or back. Please avoid anything that would tempt you to touch your face or move it from your face at any time.
Makeup: less is more. Colors that look "natural", not RED + BLACK (see below)
Accessories, hair, and makeup all pertain to both females and males
Top: NO logos, labels, colors, stripes, designs...etc. No LOW cut shirts, belly shirts, tube tops, spaghetti straps, or tank tops of any kind. Shoulder must be covered.
Pants: See-through pants, pants that only cover part of the leg. Let must be COMPLETELY covered
Shoe: UGGs or any type of shoe that LOOKS like an UGG STYLE shoe, high heels, flip flops, backless sandal, backless shoe
Jewelry: anything that bangles, or bright colors, try to avoid wearing hair bands on your wrist
Ties & scarves: Scarves that are not a form of black / white.
Hair / Makeup
Hair down that would tempt you to touch your face or move it from your face at any time (pushing it behind your ear at anytime).
Makeup: dark or bright colors that do not look "natural", avoid RED lipstick and blush (there are bright lights on your face that will make RED look clownish), avoid heavy BLACK eyeliner (there are bright lights on your face that will make thick BLACK lines look RACCOONish)
